Good 'gates I am not going on the Internet tomorrow for anything non-college related. And if I do, blast if I don't just limit it to an hour. Sure, the school year is quiet so far but that is no excuse for this amount of generally no will power when it comes to web use.

That being said, when I let myself on (if at all) tomorrow, this meme caught my eye on [ profile] orangejulies and [ profile] errant_evermore journals.

You are an amazing soul of contradictions, you know that?

I prefer enigma.

Ask me my Top Five [Whatevers]. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! Anything goes. I'll post my answers in a new post (either later tonight or tomorrow). You can ask for more than one Top Five list if you want. I ain't picky.

Top five medieval weapons. Go!

Date: 2009-09-15 12:32 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile]
1) Flail (DUH! Either one used for threshing or one with spiked ball.)
2) Trebuchet (Consistently in my "DUDE! THAT'S AWESOME" catagory. So much fun to say too.)
3) Club (related to flail, always nice to have a blunt instrument in battle. Could be any variety of versions. My person fav is the cudgel)
4) Sabre (Ooo, I need to read Hornblower more... This only barely beats out the longsword)
5) Crossbow (Though I can never draw one, this still holds a special place in my heart. Ballistas are Exceptional.)

Haha, trebuchet would definitely be on my list as well. There's nothing quite like watching one fling a piano into the air XD

Top five non-fuzzy animals!

Date: 2009-09-15 12:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile]
1) Crow (all corvids, really, but that would take up the whole list)
2) Alligator Turtle (Have you seen one? It's like something out of Jurassic Park but cooler. They have a fake worm in their mouth to lure fishies. They look like something from a Godzilla film.)
3) Gecko (part because of the walking on glass and stuff...part because good 'gates have you looked at their eyes.
4) Leopard Seal (I feel in luff with them after seeing how exceptionally scary they are when chasing down penguins. I'm pretty certain they aren't that fuzzy...) They are. Curses.
4) American alligator (RAR!)
5) Squirrel with bad case of mange. XP

I'd say some sort of owl on their list...but if you've seen a proper Eurasian Eagle Owl...they are rather fuzzy creatures (particularly the talons) (

Trust me when I say that these choices are not grounded in any academic foundation.

1) Defenestrate (The classic. Ever fun to use in normal conversation.)
2) Masticate (Same reason as above.)
3) Snazzy (It's the z useage that always catches me. Has been a favorite to use since childhood. Alternatively in the same thread as "fuzzy")
4) Tintinnabulation (I can't think of a more fun way to say "ringing bells.")
5) Abomination (best used when in conjunction with "and so cute and fuzzy" because it leads back to my love of Stitch. I owe a lot to Stitch.)

I'm rather surprised "bombastic" wasn't on your list. But I'm with you all the way on "defenestrate" XD

No questions from me - just had to weigh in to tell you that new icon is AMAZING!!! How/where/when did you get it? And what's that he's swinging?

But really, none of this matters. Because it's AWESOME!!!

I believe the lasses beat me to the point, Mr. Wing. ^^ I commissioned it from the exceptional [ profile] nqn . The original can me found here. (

Glad it amuses ye. I find (despite some wariness while awaiting its completion) it was worth every penny. XP *flails*

1) Ronts - the classic, the ever present, the one who already seems to have been following me for the past six years. Sure, his realism is jarring at times, but he's a nice comic foil to my nature.

2) Zippy - the comic relief character who I think I would get into even more random conversations than those with Ronts...and utterly keep me from being productive...ever. A nice mix of witty and pitiful and his electric quirks are amusing in general.

3) Robby/Rob - always thought of as the cutest of the bunch (as Robby), and also the jerkiest (as Rob) but the two together would work well in high school. He's capable of listening quietly, waiting for the right words to ferment before he says anything, and also intimidating bullies (and jerks) if necessary. So, another unstable fellow, but one of the more sensible of the bunch. He's Ronts's younger brother after all...

4) Misty - a tough-love sort of creature, not afraid to lay it on the line by means of pushing hosts out of their comfort zones. Also would be nice to have a rewair who could be talked to without looking like I have schizophrenia, since she can look take on the illusion of an innocuous-looking human if she wishes.

5) Reboot - might be one of the few who would be able to get me productive. His obsession with time has led to him having days mapped out with meticulous precision...but in turn, it would probably make me stressed... Well, in any case, Reboot is a creature of high-expectations, but a high burnout rate host wise. But the "rebooting" of objects within a certain radius is kinda cool. Might find some fun uses. (The actual time travel bits rarely come up.)

Honorable Mention: Fireclaw. He maybe antagonistic and hot headed, but he's gained some desirable scavenging traits over the years. His draconian philosophies help him in the long run. I need to develop the earlier generations of rewairs soon...

Top five sandwiches!

Mmm...not much of a sandwich eater but...

1) Peanut Butter and Raspberry Jelly Triple Deck
2) Cudighi (which I don't have nearly enough of)
3) Sausage Egg Biscuit from Hardee's
4) Grilled Cheese Sandwich
5) Cheesesteak (w/o Onions)

I went and looked up Cudighi, and it sounds awesome. Guess I have to get up to the UP to grab one sometime.

Okay, I *will* fall for this meme.

Top five anthro/fuzzy characters from movies, TV and literature! GO!

Date: 2009-09-16 12:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile]
1) Stitch (from, obviously, Lilo & Stitch)
2) Bentley (weasel from the book: "The Wainscott Weasel"...who I think inspired Buck in Ice Age 3 but I have no proof of it)
3) Budgeron (writer ferret from "Curious Lives: Adventures from the Ferret Chronicles" by Richard Bach )
4) Wishbone (from tv series of same name. Awesome Jack Russel Terrier...)
5) Mudge (otter from the Spellsinger series. Consistently best part of the books)

Honorable Mention: Both the rat and bat characters of "Rats, Bats, and Vats" I really must re-read that little tome.

Weekly, the weaselly reporter from Blacksad, is also hovering near this list.

And perhaps Truck, the raccoon from Architect of Sleep... So many choices... ^^
